Over the course of several years Zurich based photographer Patrik Fuchs collected hundreds of snow poles, which are used to mark the correct paths through the winter landscape of the Swiss Alps.
Back in his studio he photographed each one of them against the same neutral background. Removed from their original context and intended use they become poetic objects in their own rights.
The subsequent publication, published by Niggli, is the result of a collaboration between Patrik Fuchs and Lorenz Tschopp, with texts written by Meret Ernst and Fabian Sherrer.
